All about Morzine
Morzine is set high in the
valley
of the River Dranse at an altitude of 1000m in the Northern Alps.
Situated
between Lake Geneva and the Mont Blanc massif the area is steeped in
history
and tradition. Previously ruled over by the Dukes of Savoie it is now
part
of the Haute Savoie region of France.
Morzine is a charming small market town surrounded by stunning alpine
scenery.
It still retains the best of its traditions with geranium clad wooden
chalets,
horse and carts, craft and pottery shops.
Morzine also offers all the facilities of a modern summer resort with
health
clubs, massage, sauna and a full range of shops for all your holiday
needs.

From pizzas to posh nosh there is something to tempt
everyone. Try traditional Savoyard dishes such as pierrade, tartiflette
and raclette or for something a little more special visit La Chamade or
Le Grange. Most menus have English translation.
For bars visit Buddha, Cavern, Coyote Bar, Dixies, Bar
Robinson and The Ridge. Nightclubs open until 5am so no need to
stop partying
when the bars shut.

A beautiful village brimming with

Just 45 minutes drive away Lake Geneva offers some
splendid scenery.
Cruises are available from just a simple crossing to a full tour around
the lake.

Chamonix & The Mont Blanc Massif

Chamnonix and Mont Blanc
A 20 minute trip on the famous rack and pinion railway
from Chamonix takes you to the foot of France's biggest glacier, La Mer
de Glace.
Look out for the Ice Grotto carved out each year for the
past 50 years.
Alternatively take the cable car to the Aiguille du Midi
and cross over the glacier at an altitude of 3842 metres.

Annecy
Annecy is known for its lake and the canals that mingle between the
streets.
Have lunch overlooking the banks of the Thiou then visit its historical
centre
or the fantastic shops.
Annecy is about an hour and 20 minutes drive from Morzine.
