Everything about Mountain Biking in Morzine

Mountain biking at its best
Morzine is often referred to as the Mecca of European mountain biking, a place that all true mountain bikers must make a pilgrimage to during the summer months.

Located in the centre of the extensive Portes du Soleil lift system, Morzine is ideally situated for exploring the vast network of trails that criss-cross the surrounding alpine landscape.

Downhill Mountain Biking

Andy taking a short cut!
Tracks built specifically for the French Cup and Swiss National Championships are an excellent addition to the already impressive selection of Downhill courses found in the area.

Likewise the Vario bike park in Chatel is ideal for developing your skills, with North shore drops, jumps and many other natural and man made challenges to play on.

Freeride Mountain Biking

Soak up the dramatic scenery
Mountain bikers who enjoy going both up and down hills are also well catered for with unparalleled access to hundreds of miles of trails leading from Morzine into Switzerland and the surrounding French terrain.

Steep technical climbs, fast flowing singletrack and rocky paths are the trademark of the area.

Chairlifts can be used to eliminate the worst of the climbing should you wish to cover more ground. The way marked Portes du Soliel loop is 40 miles of lift supported fun with over 4000 metres of climbing easily achievable in a day.

Cross Country Mountain Biking

A quick look at the view before the off

There are literally hundreds of miles of marked and unmarked trails in the Portes du Soleil area. For those willing to put in a few pedal strokes uphill the rewards are amazing with some of the most undisturbed trails and amazing views in the world.

All Part of the Jolly Good Service

In the unlikely event that something is beyond our ability we can point you in the direction of several British run bike shops in Morzine that have fully equipped workshops and fairly priced spares.

These shops also have cross country and downhill hire bikes available should you wish to experience a different type of riding.
